Gone are the days of burning a CD of images or a DVD slideshow for clients. Insert the times of instant gratification when you receive a link directly to your private online digital photo gallery right to your inbox (say that one five times fast)!
When my clients hire me, they all get a personalized photo gallery where they can view, download and share (soon purchase print straight from gallery) their images as soon as they receive their link. With Pixieset, they have revolutionized my delivery by light years!
If you're wondering how I deliver my photo sessions and wedding online galleries, you are in for a good one where I walk through how to navigate the gallery and download them.
This is gonna be good...
Every feel like your days are turning into months and months are turning into years faster than you can keep up??
Yeah, me too; more so lately as I write up another Month in Review.
Let's dive right in, shall we?
While your cocktail hour is so much fun for your wedding guests to freshen up with some chilled champagne, a cold brew, or some treats, as a wedding photographer I like to call this time: Photo Hour.
Ever wonder when do the wedding couple get a chance to take those stunning wedding portraits of just them glowing and basking in each other's admiration? It's most likely taken during cocktail hour, and as long as you've got treats and wedding drinks handy your guests won't even notice you're gone (Sorry to break it to you). However, you will have this amazing time to take those stunning wedding portraits of you and your forever partner-in-crime done in the mean time.
Not sure if cocktail hour is necessary for your wedding, let chat shall we?
We all do it at one point or another. We meet someone for the first time, shake their hand introduce ourselves, exchange a quick little story, and we tell ourselves that we'll remember this person's name and what they do. But the truth is, we forget.
We may remember something about their story that stuck out, what they did for a living or what they wore. So there's nothing different when it comes to meeting a few dozen different wedding vendors month after month as you plan out your wedding day. As you try and remember everyone's name and keep their phone number in your phone, remembering their business names or social media handles are not particularly on the top of the list of remembering (at least not when you're planning one of the biggest events of your lives)...
I sat across the table with her in a crowded Starbucks coffee shop when she told me that she didn't even know where to start. As we both had an iced cold coffees in hand, a small part of me thought, "Well, I'm a photographer, not a wedding planner." came across my mind, I still knew I had to help her. This was the among the first weddings I had ever shot.
There are wedding receptions, and then there are wedding receptions with your best friends who are obsessed with Harry Potter. Seeing as Tawny and Julieanne got engaged while vacationing in Harry Potter World, it was only fitting they have a wedding reception themed by the wizarding world.
It's hard not to think of all the possible Pinterest perfect inspirational quotes that come to mind when I think about how gorgeous our trip to California's central Pacific Coast was. Coming from Southern California--particularly Los Angeles, we don't see all the stunning blues and lushes greens that world can offer. Every color was so vibrant and full of life that the best words I can come up with to describe it is...
Beauty and Gratitude.
As a corporate job employee by day, and a solo entrepreneur by night (and weekends), I spend a lot of my time in the car on my morning and evening commutes. Aside from playing some Mumford and Sons or a soundtrack to my currently obsessed movie, I rely on a good mindful podcast to keep me sane from the mundane commute and crazy LA drivers.
Since I talk a whole lot about podcasts and what I'm listening to (usually via my Instagram Stories), I thought I would share my Top 10 Podcasts that I can't seem to get enough of.
Every time Angely asks me to take her family portraits, there's nothing but excitement and happiness that comes over me. Not only is her family so photogenic, but they are genuinely the sweetest!
This time we headed to Travel Town which sits inside of Griffith Park in Los Feliz, California. This adorable little town of old trains educates people and children about the history of the railroad system, hosts parties and has so many to see! During our shoot, Leonardo (who is almost three-years-old) was so excited to be visiting his most favorite place while he gets to play conductor and climb alongside the trains. Don't worry, all these trains are all locked in one place and meant for show now.
As I close out the last week of April, I am just filled with just gratitude.
Today is my birthday, which is it's what I like to think of as the end of a chapter and the beginning of a new chapter as May rolls in. This month had so many highlights for my business and I'm so glad you're here to reminisce with me as I go through everything amazing that happened.
End of an Era!
