Each year it seems like everyone likes to go with the “New Year, New Me” motto, but where has that gotten us? Nowhere in my opinion.
So this year, I’m taking on a new motto: New Year, Same Me
Except this time, I mean business.
Without getting lost in the details about what I mean there, I want to express pure gratitude for all my past clients, past relationships I have had the pleasure of working with and getting to know on so many levels. It is because of these amazing relationships that I can say I have grown so much as a person and as a photographer.
I truly believe that our thoughts are our super power. Whatever we think, whatever we tell ourselves and whatever we believe becomes true. (Not to be confused with whether it is an actual fact, but we do tend to believe whatever we think is true.)
I don’t think I’ve ever touched on this topic before, so let me explain with a story…
A couple years ago, I heard that Paul McCartney was doing a huge show at Dodger Stadium. (If you know me, or have been following along for a while now, you know that I am a die hard Beatles fan through and through.) I knew at the time of the tour announcement that the tickets would be outrageously expensive (I mean, he’s a fricken Beatle)! I told myself and a few people around me at that moment that I would only go if I can get tickets at no more than $200.
Within less 30 minutes later, a friend of mine sends me a text message asking if I’d like to go. That she just purchased 4 tickets and immediately thought of me. And the best part--it cost me $200 for two tickets.
LIKE WHAT?! That doesn’t just happen.
I don’t care what anyone else believes. This was more than coincidence. This was a manifestation.
Why I Think You Need to Create Your Own Manifestation
Now, not all manifestations are without work like this one. Most manifestations take more than a little hopeful wishing. And that’s the kind I’m really here for.
This year, I have written down my manifestations on paper, on post-it notes and on my calendar. Some people call this goal planning, but the words goal planning never did anything for me, so I decided to change it to my manifestation.
In my experience, creating a goal never worked because it simply wasn’t clear enough. It was just this thing I was supposed to reach somehow, some way.
But with a manifestation it’s the law of attraction. You attract what you want into your life by means of knowing exactly what you want and what you’re working towards. It gives you a clearer vision of where you want to be and how to get there.
So that’s exactly what I have created for my 2021 manifestation.
I cannot wait for things to start popping up and falling into place. I’m not making any promises to myself for 2021, because as 2020 has taught us...it’s to learn to understand change and learn to pivot where we need to get where we need to go.
Friends, let’s manifest more and work towards it more than create goals without a roadmap. Who’s with me?
