Moments after your ceremony, your guests will be slowly escorted to the reception space for cocktail hour while you're off taking photos with your forever partner.
What's your guest's first impression of your reception space?
Will it be the lights, the sparkling champagne, or all the floral arrangements and tablescape?
Last month, I connected with the oh-so-talented vintage fashion designer, Moiselle Amoureux after she contacted with me on Instagram. After a thread of emails, we created probably one of the coolest photo shoots I've ever had the honor of shooting.
sin limite, sin complejo, sin permiso, sin coraje, sin consejo, sin duda, sin precio, sin cura, sin nada."

The day was Wednesday, October 28th. The sun had set and I was nervous. For some of you who have seen my work lately, you know I am an ambient photographer (or at least I prefer to shoot with ambient light) mostly because I like to photograph to showcase lifestyle more than anything else. So for me to do a night style photo shoot, was a particular challenge given that I didn't take any of my lights with me. All I had was a gold reflector, and amazing lighting crew (who saved our butts!) and some amazing artists to bounce ideas off of.
I've always wanted to do a Dia De Los Muertos photo shoot, but I never pushed hard enough for it.
I want to extend a very special thank you to the following amazing people that made this photo shoot possible:
Pia Floral Design - Floral Headpiece
Krystal Chavarin - Make-Up Artist
Stephanie Gomez - Model
Adriana Melgoza - Light

Autumn seems to mean nothing to the Santa Clarita Valley in Mid-October seeing as the temperature was rising to nearly 85 degrees at only 9am! Nonetheless, we attempted to proceed as planned with a three tier wedding cake and floral arrangements galore. And to be honest, I think we achieved that goal.
Once we arrived to the destination after having to hike down a terrain carrying all types of props, camera and a two four year old kids, it was off to start placing item per item. The colors were so vibrant and beautiful, it made my job easier to be able to capture on camera from all the creative work that came from our friends from Sweet Situation and Pia Floral Designs.

Fall Bohemian Wedding Floral Shoot: There's something about the fall that makes me fall completely in love with the many of colors of nature during the fall season--bold, rich, and beautiful. And as my quote above states, "...every leaf is a flower." This cannot be more true for today's feature.
Pia Villaseñor is a local florist residing in tranquil Granada Hills, California. I first fell in love with one of her arrangements when she had made one for her sister-in-law to give to me as a Valentine's gift--and the rest is history. (But that's besides the point.)
Pia first approached me with an idea of putting together a fall bohemian wedding floral shoot only a couple of weeks ago. This excited my creative mind because that's all I could think about. Well, that and the fact that it also meant I could go shopping for fun props in local thift shops.
I had so much fun with this shoot! From putting the set together, and having her 8 and 4-year-old hold up light diffusers and backdrops (with a promise of Sweet Snow shaved ice later), and seeing how Pia was able to place flowers I haven't even heard of into a beautiful arrangements for any future brides.
Take a look for yourself. :)
