...when every leaf is a flower." - Albert Camus
Fall Bohemian Wedding Floral Shoot: There's something about the fall that makes me fall completely in love with the many of colors of nature during the fall season--bold, rich, and beautiful. And as my quote above states, "...every leaf is a flower." This cannot be more true for today's feature.
Pia Villaseñor is a local florist residing in tranquil Granada Hills, California. I first fell in love with one of her arrangements when she had made one for her sister-in-law to give to me as a Valentine's gift--and the rest is history. (But that's besides the point.)
Pia first approached me with an idea of putting together a fall bohemian wedding floral shoot only a couple of weeks ago. This excited my creative mind because that's all I could think about. Well, that and the fact that it also meant I could go shopping for fun props in local thift shops.
I had so much fun with this shoot! From putting the set together, and having her 8 and 4-year-old hold up light diffusers and backdrops (with a promise of Sweet Snow shaved ice later), and seeing how Pia was able to place flowers I haven't even heard of into a beautiful arrangements for any future brides.
Take a look for yourself. :)
...Summer loving happened so fast. I met a girl crazy for me... (Okay, that's enough of that.)
So, I live in the San Fernando Valley in good ol' Los Angeles, California where it's been 105 degree gross heat, also known as dry, dry, dry heat and pretty much dead plants. It's super unfortunate; and to be completely honest, pretty sad. BUT despite the heat and the everlasting climate change my back yard plants (mostly cactuses--cactis--cacti..? Help me out here, people.) are flourishing in all their glory. Here's a small look at some of the details I captured this week.
The evening was going on 6pm. Seeing as I was going to a location I have been a couple times before, I thought--who needs a GPS (aka Siri). But I went with Siri anyway. Not to hate on Siri, because lets be honest, Siri has kept me company when I needed a good joke--but that's besides the point. Long story short, Siri got me lost. I was starting to lose light. I was getting anxious, and a little nervous. When I finally got there, Gwen made me smile with how big she's gotten.
Sassy Gwen is going on 6. It's incredible to me how fast she has grown. In case you can't tell in the following images, please be advised that she is such a character. Just like her Mama Diana and Auntie Maria (featured in the thread below. :P), Gwen definitely has her sense of style and sense of humor. I can't wait for her to open up more in our next session with her baby brother, Derrick!
Here are a few of my favorites from our park session last week. :)
