If you've been following my photography for a while now, you may have seen this lovely lady in my early photography years. She's never one to be camera shy, which always makes for a good model in times that we just want to pick up some Starbucks, and venture off and explore.
These are my favorite captures of Ms. Brittney Ann during our latest visit to one of my favorite places, Descanso Gardens.
Mayra and I go way back! Like, 2nd grade back! She was one out of two friends (maybe three..?) who loved the band Hanson almost as much as I did back in our Mmmbop days. Haha.
On the other hand, this bride and her groom knew each other from high school. To be honest, I never even knew these two spoke to each other in high school. But funny how everything turns out?
Left high school as friends, and just the other week they said their "I Do"s.
The day was April 8, 2016. The venue was at the Verdugo Room at the Castaway Restaurant in Burbank, California. Mayra and Charles wanted their wedding to be traditional in a sense that they didn't want to have any first looks including not knowing what Charles' tux would look like! There was a heavy overcast and light drizzle, but that never dampened this magic couple from pushing through for their special day. Everything from the look on Mayra's father's face as he gave her away at the ceremony, to their father daughter dance at their reception had me crying behind my camera. This was a special day. Not only for them, but for me. Getting to see one of my bestest childhood friend's have her happily ever after was just as special.
A happy congratulations goes to the happy newlyweds! I can't wait to see what memories you create in all your years to come!
Chance. It was ten years ago. Quan and Rachel took a chance and went out on their first date.
Just recently celebrating their ten year anniversary as a couple, they decided to make it official. He proposed, and in love, Rachel said yes to an October wedding and a life with Quan.
Rachel had mentioned to me how she wanted to do a natural engagement session. The casual, yet sophisticated couple and I decided on Venice Beach, California for their session. The weather was 62 degrees fahrenheit. It was windy, and to us Angelenos, 62 was cold. But seeing as we were on the beach, we pushed through (by taking a few pictures, then having to run back into the sun for warmth, then back into the shot. Haha.) Despite the cold wind, sand flying, and our hair in our faces, I have to admit this engagement session turned out as perfect as I could have hoped for!
Rachel and Quan are just the perfect match. They do what a lot of couples ought to do: laugh (a lot!), live and travel, and love each other. For this, they make one great couple. <3
